Has anyone had any experience with swapping a car out for another (same dealership) that you finance your current car with?

Not necessarily looking at doing it but just curious as to whether you can!

Yes, of course you can. Dealers will fall over themselves to take your still-financed vehicle and swap you into a nice new vehicle.

As long as there's profit in it for them. Expect to be ripped off.

ETA: I bought a car from Carmax. Decided after a couple of weeks I didn't like it (under-powered).

Took it back and 'swapped' for my current drive. I lost about $1,500 on the car in 2 weeks.

Carmax offer a 5-day money-back guarantee but I missed that deadline.

Yeah, our dealership was sending me cards in the mail before my car was even a year old offering to buy it back. I have received two cards from some sales guy there this year saying he really needs my 2014 car for his inventory and will give me an 'aggressive' price for it.

Somehow I doubt his version of 'aggressive' will match mine.

Just got back from court.

I got caught at 90 in a 55. Which was a 6 point ticket and around a $5/600 fine with court fees.

Lawyer plead me down to a 3 point "unsafe lane change" ticket and a $140 fine. Pretty happy with that, now not to repeat what I did!

Wow, it's quite amazing how lawyers can be so effective over here.

Yeah I couldn't quite believe it. Definitely worth the money.

A guy in front of me without a lawyer was caught at 91 in a 55 in the exact same spot as me and he got a license suspension for 30 days and a $550 fine so...

Sounds like a good result. Consider buying a radar detector and use Waze for police notifications. Between the 2 you can reduce the chance of repeating if you are going to continue speeding 15 over or more

I do use Waze but sadly no bugger had reported them sitting there

Will definitely look into a radar detector although someone said to me they were illegal?!

Not in most states. Virginia is one where they are banned. You might be thinking of radar jammers which are illegal everywhere.

Ah okay, I'll check them out. I'm fairly certain Cartoys or one of those kinda places stocks them.
