Of this series...new redesign isn't really a Type R in anything but name.

Anyway, we just traded cars, so this is a bit of a pet peeve too, but $100 to transfer plates, title and registration, except the expiration date is kept, so we've got to renew it in October. Either that, or spend as much money on new registration, new plates and a day in the DMV, if we didn't use the insurance runner.

We just paid the excise tax on the old car to boot, so ho-hum.

This report makes it sound like the new Type R is going to be even more bad-a§§ than the outgoing one.

I saw a 2017 Viper GTS-R out on a test drive today - apparently one of only 100 made, and yours for only $145,320 + applicable taxes. It's a pity it isn't a real "-R" and is only a commemorative edition for the original GTS-R of 20 years ago.

I am not a huge fan of Dodge cars, but I am sad to see the passing of the Viper. It was killed once before, by FCD, shortly after Fiat rescued Chrysler Dodge, but surely it is only a matter of time before such an iconic car is relaunched.

A pet peeve is that there are no longer Dodge Trucks; they are now just Rams. I've never owned one, but Dodge trucks have a long history. If I see a Ram, I think of it as a Dodge.

You're behind the times. The sale of Vauxhall and Opel to PSA, the owner of Peugeot and Citroen was announced today.

Fiat truck does quite have the same ring to it.

I never forgave my father for buying one! ..... A '74 three door estate. Good grief that thing pretty much defined "POS".

As a result I vowed never to buy GM product, and to date never have, though bizarrely my father went on to own a series of Astras.

Was a bit of a surprise when I heard about the sale of Opel/vauxhall to PSA. I owned a couple of Astra's and actually ended up being a mod on a vauxhall forum as well as attending shows with my car. The diesel Astra that I, er, tweaked, will always be one of the most fun cars I'll own. The French connection could do wonders for future models handling (always a vx weak point), but I do worry about the French influnence on build quality and interior design.

Do you remember what Peugeot did to Talbot? I'd bet good money on them doing the same thing to Vauxhall.

If you're lucky Vauxhall will be a name applied to French cars to make them more appealing to the British. They might have to firm-up the suspension a bit.
