100% accurate!

I managed to get a quote for a new alloy/"rim" for the truck.

I won't be paying for it though!

My truck has five alloys, one has a minor scratch, after someone's Ford Escort rolled into my truck three months after I bought it. The Escort driver's mother's insurance company Progressive, kindly wrote me a cheque for a new wheel.

Did your own insurance company get wind of it though, because even though it wasn't your fault, that shit can still put your rates up.

That's who we're insured with, they seem to be pretty useful and they were fairly priced.

My wife is paying for the alloy, she's also promised not to drive it again! Haha

I'm half tempted to trade the Raptor in for one of the new Chevy Colorado's with the Z71 pack on, they're very nice!

Is it even worth putting that through your own insurance or do you have a very low deductable? I can't imagine one new wheel rim is more than $500.00.

Don't mean to burst your bubble either, mate, but if you're wife is paying for it, technically you still are.

I don't know/ don't remember. It was 14 years ago and I don't remember any adverse consequences.

I was about to say the same thing. It's no more useful than taking money out of your left pocket and putting it into your right pocket to pay for the damage.

Of course, I let my wife handle the money, because if it was left up to me we'd have a stack of unpaid bills, but a lot of really cool things.

Oh it isn't going through insurance.

I'd sadly already figured out I'd be paying for it in a roundabout way but it'll still make me feel better!

Her little brother keeps coming round and riding his bike near it and he's scratched her car a ton of times so I'm that curtain twitching human whenever he's playing outside!

The car is flaming cursed.

I've driven to target to pick some stuff up for the Mrs. I got out of the car and heard a hissing noise. There is a bloody screw through my tire.

Luckily there is a good year over the road. I'm now waiting for them to bankrupt me.

It is what it is. At least it was just a wheel and she didn't get hurt

If it's in the tread it should be reparable, and shouldn't cost you more than $20-$25.

I had a screw go through the tread, ..... and pull a thread out of the belt on the inside, creating a tear around almost half way around the inside of the tyre. Goodbye tyre.

Just heard back that it's unrepairable. After seeing the damage I didn't think it would be.

Tried it on selling me another 3 tires too. Load of crap as it has just been through state inspection when I bought it so I know the tires are good.

Oh well.

There's a lot of crap on the roads here. We probably average a puncture every two years, so around every 60,000 vehicle miles (average over 14 years since we moved to NC). About one in four punctures trashes the tire for one reason or another.

We were having a windscreen smashed about once a year when we first moved to NC too (I know both our Accord and F250 had two new windscreens each in the early years, and I the Mustang, one), but I think we have only lost one in the past 8-9 years - the Accord, about two years ago.
