Saw this on the BBC today...

I don't know what reminded me of it but a few weeks ago on my way home, I saw a Jensen Interceptor parked right in the town centre. It was for sale, too.

I also saw the Merkur version of the '80s Ford Scorpio the other day too (I've seen loads of their XR4i 'covers' but not this one yet). This wasn't the one I saw, I just lifted it from Wikipedia to show what it looks like:

There is something strikingly cool about seeing an 'aeroback' 80s design pulling out of an American garage forecourt. This one was in a lovely metallic beige, too.

I'll keep me eyes out for that Interceptor though, try and snap off a shot to post if I can.

You used "XJS" and "upgrade" in the same sentence without a smilie at the end of it.

I think the XJS was my first dream car in the 1970's. There was a second coming of the dream in the 80's when Lister reworked the XJS, with a 7 litre V12 and a turbo, good for 200mph when the only other way to get there was with silly money and an F40 or a 959.

I had an XJS and an XJ6.

The XJ6 was ok... a bit damp in the back, but that was pretty standard.

The XJS was about as far from a dream as you can get. Well, unless you count dreams filled with puppets who's heads spin around and deadly killer clown extravaganzas.

I don't think there was a single day when something wasn't broken. The wiring... oh my god... the wiring. <shudder>

I saw a new Acura ZDX. I immediately started to heave. To stop I had to look at pics of the Aztec, it was that bad.
