I say 'New' Mustang because here in the UK we are taking first delivery of them. I laughed in December when I was visiting the US that they were pretty common!

Except there was already tooling for the two set-ups because the Cobra had IRS.

Of course, but doesn't that support my point? As we have both agreed, live axle setups are/were cheaper to manufacture, the fact the Cobra which was a 'high end' version of the Stang, justified the cost.

Incidentally, what year is yours Pulaski?

Nice, I'm glad it's a GT. Never been a fan of rag tops myself.

A GT only means it has a V8 engine. There are convertible GTs, mine is the coupe though. Needless to say, it is a manual.

Interesting! I'll have to check if the new one is the same, a bit embarassing as I work here I'm used to MGB's where the GT means hard top, and the soft top is a roadster.

Yes, I love auto's in daily drivers but wouldn't have anything sporty with one.

Yep, the new model is no different to the previous models in that respect. Gotta say though, even though it's bigger, the new Mustang feels as cramped as anything inside. There is no room inside at all. Mine feels like a cavern inside compared to the new model.

I had three Fords. All had the lovable habit of engines suddenly cutting out without warning. Wouldn't touch one with a barge pole now.

I would go for the new Chevy Camaro instead and it looks even better than a Mustang

I would disagree on the camaro looking better than the mustang, but that is of course subjective. The camaro is however, awful inside. And I do mean awful. One of the worst interiors I've come across. And as for the rag top. I'm 6 foot, and with the roof up, I have to hunch up to get in. The camaro is one one of the most disappointing cars I've driven.

But proving very popular judging by the number I see on the road

Has anyone else noticed that Ford fullsize trucks that are several years old have a warped frame, such that the driver's side leans right of center line.

Not sure what you mean. My 2003 F250 doesn't, so far as I know.
