So everyone in the media is making a fuss about the new Ford F150 having Aluminium body panels and whether it is strong enough; I guess they forget that Land Rover defenders have had Aluminium body panels for eons.

You didn't see the ruckus about the crash test for the regular truck a few months ago?

Ford had beefed-up the front end of the the extended cab and crew cab, but not the regular cab. The results of the offset front end crash for the regular cab were not pretty!

BTW the body work of Land Rovers, ever since back when a Land Rovers were just Land Rovers, has always been aluminum. The original Land Rover was cobbled together from a Jeep chassis and some aircraft aluminum that were lying around after thenl war.

Is there any truth in this Daily Telegraph article? .... It suggests the new Clarkson-Wilman show will be called "Gear Knobs", and hints that it will start showing much earlier than the previously stated autumn of 2016. Certainly the earlier start makes sense as they have already started filming.

I'm not sure how much truth is in that article, as they seem to be saying that 'Asian man' is a term used to describe a flat plane inclined at an angle to the horizontal ...

I still want to see if anyone has information on whether Amazon are going to charge extra above and beyond Prime membership to view it

Is there any precedent, or established mechanism, for them to do so?

I don't know how it works for their own shows, I think probably not, but one can't be too sure.

All I have watched on Prime is the first season of Father Ted, which is free. Most shows watched Netflix-style have to be bought, as you would buy a DVD box-set.

Another car that won't be coming to the US, Trident Iceni . Gets 70 mpg at 30 mph on a track. Top speed over 200 mph. Quoted range of 2000 miles.

Whoever designed that liked old Jags, didn't they?

Sounds pretty good on paper, but I doubt I'd want to keep that at 30mph if I had one
