Ha ha, not really though. Top Gear is their biggest earner. That show is pretty much dead without JC, besides, doesn't he own part of the rights to the show?

Slap on the wrist, public apology. Maybe a fine or something.

Then let him get back to work. Top Gear without any of the three presenters is nothing and no Top Gear on TV is quite a shit idea.

The cynical part of me can't help but think that this is just a publicity stunt. Shame it happened though, I've been enjoying the new episodes on BBCA.

He wont be gone long. I doubt he gives a stuff either way though. Easily the funniest show on TV.

Exactly. He's hinted at ending the show in the past. I'm sure he'd be more than happy to sit on his millions writing the odd column for the Telegraph.

He doesn't give a stuff, and the BBC knows it's one of their biggest shows with a huge worldwide audience. They just have to be seen to be taking action.

Anyway, I think everyone knows that the Clarkson we see on Top Gear is just a persona anyway, same as Ricky Gervais when he did the 11 O'Clock Show. They do know this, don't they?

The rest of the time he is here, posting about DIY and parking trucks backward in small spaces.

I don't know, maybe a little but part of me thinks there is a seed of truth at the bottom. It isn't quite a complete act like Colbert on the Colbert Report, I'd say more like Glenn Beck. Definitely amped up but based on what he really believes.

I don't know. I guess we'll have to wait to see if they'll say what he was supposed to have said. I've always got an undercurrent of Empire-era making fun of foreigners, rather than full on racism from Jezza, myself.

Plus, when they do specials, he's come off with some lovely things to say about Africa and Vietnam. Mostly, it's the yanks who get the piss taken out of them and it was Hammond who made the joke about Mexicans, not Clarkson.

Maybe they should just let James May do all the talking in future ...

I follow both Jeremy Clarkson and Ricky Gervais on Twitter. I'd agree, on screen they seem fairly true to form (although having said that, it was a while ago, but I seem to remember Ricky Gervais being more a David Brent character on the 11 o'clock show wasn't he? He was totally overshadowed by Denis Penis on there anyway).

Apparently (well, according to the 'Radio Times') Clarkson punched a producer!

Top Gear series postponed and future hangs in the balance after Jeremy Clarkson “punches producer”
