Pretty.

How about some pics of yours?

I think that one looks nicer than the new one, actually.

Why thank you! Actually, I get more comments on the colour than on the car itself. The way Morgan do their paint, a customer can specify pretty much any colour under the sun, but they used to have a small palette of no-cost options - this is "Jubilee Blue" available for a limited time in 1984 in honour of Morgan's 75th anniversary. My dad bought this new (he ordered it in 1978, provided detailed specifications in 1984, and took delivery in mid-85; it was a B-reg in the UK). Before he shuffled off, he suffered for several years with Parkinson's disease: when that forced him give up driving, in his infinite wisdom he decided to gift the car to me and ship it to Canada rather than sell it

Being a 4-seater (well, realistically a 2+2 - I wouldn't wish more than a very short back-seat journey on anybody more than four feet tall...) means it's possible to take SWMBO and a couple of kids with me occasionally. And even though most roads hereabouts consist of straight lines and right-angle bends, there are enough twisty bits to have some fun if you know where to look.

Oh Morgan.

I still remember that episode of Troubleshooter with Sir John Harvey Jones.

Certainly the old classic will never go out of style, but as updates go, I reckon they've done well with the new one - modernized it without deviating too far from the original lines. I like it.

I was at uni with one half of a pair twins who's dad was something big in shoemaking in Northamptonshire. For their graduation in 1985, they got a Morgan each - one was British Racing Green, and the other was the Jubilee Blue of Oakvillian's - it really did look nice. They caused all sorts of arguments down the pub as to which one was prettier. Rather pointless arguments, given that the third 'best' car of our group was mine - a "white and rust" 1.3l Escort with go faster stripes and cibie oscars and a F&*( off stereo. In fact, the lights and the sounds gear were probably worth more than the rest of the car

I'm that much of a sad bastard that I'd still have the Escort out of the 3.

I do love '80s British Fords though.

I'm with you all the way! I still remember the day my dad bought his XR3i home. I cannot tell you how much I loved that car. Everything was amazing, from the click in the roof, to the all black interior, to the performance. The car he had before that was a green Lada so quite the upgrade LOL. A mate of mine bought a remapped Sierra Cosworth (the sapphire which was by far the best of the 2 IMO). I'd like to go in it today just to see how fast it actually was, but at the time, it felt like a time machine!

My Mexico was a 1975 Mk1 It felt fast, but I suspect that was because the brakes and tires were shit.

The steering wasn't all that either.
