So many nice cars in the world. "Affordable?" I'd love say a 66ish 4 door Continental convert, maybe a XJS (I'm a glutton for punishment, but if it's a toy...), a 68 or so International Scout, a 77ish F-250 with a 460, heck I look at cars all the time and I've been told I could sell my 91 S-10 at a fair profit! Must... not... be... idiot....

LOL I drove a MG Midget once and felt like a giant.

If my ****ing car hadn't blown up and I'd made it to April (bonus time) it would have been a 2011 GT-R.

So what do you guys think about this. http://www.affordableclassicsinc.com...r_for_sale.htm

It's in a local garage to me, worth $6k although they have had it some months and I'm guessing would take an offer. There is an MG parts and repair place in Portland so getting spares or work done I can't do myself wouldn't be a problem.

When I was 17, and still living in Liverpool, I almost bought an Aston Martin DBS Vantage. That was in 1983.

The car was 3,500 GBP......But, the Insurance for me, a 17 year old from Liverpool, was more than that.

Registration number was JTM 717F, Brown and in really good condition. I was just gutted when the Dealer sold it. Should have bought it, anyway, and kept it in the garage. But, Mother wouldn't have any of that.

Beautiful. I am horribly biased though.

It looks pretty clean from the pics. Presumably there will be some rust, unless it's already been cut out. Other concerns would be rubber seals.. dried out gaskets if it's been sat a long time, ditto tyres... Have a close look at those wheels, make sure the build is ok too.

Wonder why the engine looks so clean and yet the radiator looks like it came out of a ditch?

Never did like the MG-B. Seemed lacking in style and character after the MG-A, of which I had 3. I did not include the MG-A in cars I would like to have, although I would, loved mine, because I stayed with cars I had never owned. If an MG-B rocks someones boat, that is all that matters. We like what we like.

That is pretty. And probably an investment too.

Looks great, seems a good price for what appears to be a nice body. Pretty easy to work on - such basic cars, I remember getting second hand parts off a range of other motors that shared the same parts bin (I seem to remember the Allegro shared many parts, and the Sherpa van). Balancing the carbs was a problem from memory.

The wheels look like bolt-on rather than splined, the rad looks like it might be toast. I would check the overdrive engagement/disengagement when driving.

There are lots of improvements that can be added - the cantilever shocks are often a first target.

Someone on my street, back in '68, had one of these for sale. $500. Thought it was uglier than a bag of shit at the time. Bought a '66 Galaxy 500 convertible instead. Same price. Oh the mistakes we make. But I did like the Galaxy, big boat that it was.
