That might be a tough sell, from the the thrill of a Harley to an MX5?

A Mustang GT would be a more appealing prospect I'd have thought, even if it has to be a used one. My 2002 has had no problems what so ever, and on the used market I'd be lucky to get more than about $6k for it. But it is NOT for sale!

I drove a 5 speed in rush hour traffic jams for years, no big deal imo.

They are building roundabouts here in no roundabout land. They work very well but people don't often know how to use them.

So, I was thinking how to do this without it just turning into a collection of Veyron / Lambo / McLaren pics....

Practicality aside, but trying to keep it within a feasible budget, do you have a car that you would love to own? Not a supercar exactly.. maybe a classic or just something that always caught your eye?

There are two cars I would buy in an instant if I had the time to devote to them and the space to keep them... Maybe in my retirement if I am lucky.

1st up would be a Frog Eyed Sprite. There was one at the bottom of my Grans garden when I was a kid. Never saw it move (I think even back then it was broken), but it used to peep over the fence.

So that's my British fix. My other choice may surprise a few people, given my liking for small cars, but it's the only one for me....

1972 (No other year will do) Plymouth Satellite. There is NOTHING about this car I don't love.

So, What is going to (or does already) fill that other spot in your garage?

I am toying with the idea of a second hand M5 as a marginally practical "every day" car, probably around 2008-2010. Depending on several things, it might just be doable this year, and a change from tooling around in my F250.

If I can get the money together in a few years, I'd get a Viper, probably around 2000-2004. I have loved that car since the concept was shown at the Detroit Motor Show in 1988. It would probably as close as I'd ever get to owning a Lambo.

If I had money to burn I wouldn't mind owning a Frog Eye Sprite, but given that there is no hope in hëll of me fitting in one, it would be just an ornament in the garage.

I was going to say an M5 too. I'd also love something like an Evo or Impreza.

Since none of the above are in my price range, I'd just settle for something new in the next 18 months ...

Always had a desire for one of these. '63 Studebaker Avanti. Way ahead of its time. Studebaker made some fast cars.

Andy Granatelli at Bonneville shattered 29 U.S. records in 12 hours. Studebakers (including Avantis) smashed 337 different USAC records in six classes.

Cannot forget the '57 T-Bird. Been a dream for years.

And, to round it out, two of the only Corvettes that I like. '60 and '54

The car I always wanted to own, but never did was a Renault 5 GT turbo. I loved those cars growing up. By the time I was able to insure one, finding one that hadn't been thrashed to within an inch of its life by a boy racer was impossible. I'd still love to own one.

The Impreza would be a lot of fun.

A late-90s spec one, blue with the gold wheels. Manual gearbox of course. Nice

Though, it would be fun to own something classicly American, like an old Mustang or a late '60s Corvette.

Oh, I'd look like either a total cock, or a Viagra commercial with any of those choices, I know this, but it's hard to care.

Speaking of cocks' cars, I'd still have a 911

As would I, but an Aston wouldn't ever be an option for me financially, while a used 90s ricer or classic American muscle cars would. Maybe.
