We have 3 vehicles, A Jeep Wrangler, bright yellow soft top with huge off road tyres and a lift. A classic Pontiac Sunbird convertible which I bought for my stepson to drive to college in (which he seems to be systematically destroying) and until this month a Honda Pilot which we have recently traded in and bought a Ford Escape. The Pilot was 13 years old and I still miss it and regret getting rid of it, it would go everywhere we wanted, even through 2 feet of snow and up mountain tracks, it didn't have a trace of rust anywhere on it. You want to buy a good car ? Get a Honda Pilot.
One thing I actually do like about the Escape though is the sports mode on the transmission, I can select what gear I desire electronically, 1 -6.

I think this really illustrates the subjectivity around what is good/not good about cars - there is a quite significant emotional component for people who are 'into' cars.
I would argue that referring to a Pontiac Sunbird as "classic" is a misnomer. Similarly, my view is that a Honda Pilot is essentially a soulless, dull, boring - but reliable metal box, used for the conveyance of people who treat cars like washing machines - i.e. a device to serve but one purpose, that lacks style, individuality, beauty or passion.

I do not dispute that a Pilot is a good car - depending upon what the definition of 'good' is. Personally, I'd rather take the bus than own one.

The designation 'Classic' is very widely interpreted.
But, 1969 Pontiac Sunbird Convertible surly fits the description.

Except that this is an F-Body Firebird convertible that someone has decided to call a "Sunbird".

Quite. The Sunbird was a mid-70s to early-90s thing, wasn't it? A very ordinary front-engine, front-drive compact. I suppose if you can call a Morris Marina a "classic" then so can you designate a Sunbird.

The vehicle pictured above is somewhat similar in colour to BL's diahrroea yellow Marina...

The 'slightly newer than new' TG was actually pretty decent after Chris Evans left.

Citroen never left rallying. The 2016 team was a weird sort of "semi-Works" team that didn't carry the Citroen name but had factory support - the excuse was that this was a development year for the new C3 WRC car; full official works support was back in 2017 and continues this year. The news article you quoted is about tempting Sebastien Ogier back to the team - he left a few years ago after he and Sebastien Loeb had a bit of a spat. Loeb still drives for the team, but mostly on an invitaitonal basis.

I've got it in my head that I'm going to buy a Jeep Wrangler once I get over there (if my visa ever decides to come through.) When in America... go big or go back to driving a Polo :P
