scrubbedexpat099 is an unknown quantity at this point
Default Re: Let's talk about cars

I have been looking at getting a newer truck, one thing I have noticed is that with the end of year deals seems not that big a difference between a new new new one and something a few years old.

AZm aso told much better deals can be had out of State, Kansas etc, saw something I liked on line but it was 2Wd, weird, did not think they made them that way.

That would be because they didn't make very many. ..... about 6,600, and only about half of those came to the US.

Not sure what you're looking at but we have a friend that's the sales manager at a Chevy dealer down here in the metro area so may be able to help.

I found a 2012 Tundra online a few weeks ago for a fantastic price down in NM, then I realized it was 2WD. As you said very strange as I wasn't even aware they made them 2WD.

There are plenty of 2wds in my neck of the woods, including mine. I suspect that further east in NC, where it's flatter, most are 2wd.

Correct I tend to favor the more obscure models.
A friend of mine in Saudi had a bronze one and rolled it missing a camel on the " Christian Highway " that goes around Mecca, it sustained very little damage and he was unharmed they are a well made vehicle.

It certainly explained the price, the same year with similar mileage with 4WD was about $6000 more!

Thought the price of the 2WD one looked too good to be true.

When I got mine, new, I chose* a 2wd, 5.4, and manual. I'd have paid 30% more for 4wd, 6.8, and auto.

* Had to be special ordered, and it came direct from Ford's Kansas LTP.

I'd like to get another. Insurance on the VW went up pretty good after my speeding ticket and it's useless in the snow. Did a few quotes on some trucks and it'd drop the insurance significantly.

In a bit of a jam though until I get the VW paid off
