Ka-ching !!
So my son has his school concert tonight.
They must wear long khaki trousers (I will not say pants !!) ka-ching $49.99 at Macy's.
As he is a fat wee bugger he has to buy mens size and they have to be taken up ka-ching $5.40.
Christmas Party on Friday so note home saying make something or send cash for pizza. In order to avoid giving brats salmonella ka-ching $20.00.
Also note says kids will be giving out 'Penny Presents' so please have your child bring 20 small gifts to school (pencils, sweets etc). Where will I get 20 bloody presents for 1 bloody penny so you guessed it ka-ching $25.00 on sweets for aforementioned brats.
So that's $100.00 down and it's only Tuesday...

the spelling of course, I love the Irish - my spelling has gone downhill rapido since giving up work for this life of desperation as a trailing spouse. I even had to google 'honorary'

The mindless one says one of his classmates is bringing devilled eggs - it's like we have time warped back to the seventies - maybe I should have whipped out my fondue set
OMG I could have made a cheese and pickle hedgehog !!!

we had the preschool concert too. watching the 2.5 years old garble happy birthday (to baby jesus) was priceless. My own herbert hardly sang a word - just kept waving at us like a demented loony! And If i didnt know the words I would NEVER have known it was supposed to be away in a manger!

Well I'm back and there goes another hour of my life I am never getting back. Bugger lugs whined the whole way there that he looked like a nerd and I can't say I disagree - the crotch of his man trousers was down by his knees .
The parent sing a long was the highlight - I know better than to sing in public but some of the 'mericuns thats another story.

Do tell me that you are kidding and that you don't seriously regret losing an hour of your life to your son's concert or the money it cost for him to participate. Hey at least give the Americans credit for attempting to have a good time while others laughed at them.

Re: Ka-ching !!
OK....of course I wouldn't have missed it just as I haven't missed any other school event, sports day, play etc however now that he is 10 going on 17 the appreciation just isn't there. I get a week of whinging that he doesn't want to do "insert event" he complains all the way there about what he has to wear, say, do and when I tell him how wonderful it was afterwards I just get a shrug. And everyone tells me it's downhill until he turns 30
As for the 'mericuns I give them kudos for giving it 110%. The dad (of the winner) at the spelling B was sitting next to me and I thought he was going to bust something. The grandad winked and hit me on the arm every time his cherub got a word correct.
Maybe it's me, maybe I have repressed childhood issues, maybe I need a therapist - Oh crap I am assimilating
