Just when I thought I'd heard it all..

This woman comes for a blow dry.. so I ask her how she wants it and she goes "think of an artichoke" (I would have loved to see the look of horror on my face then!) so I'm thinking WTF?! and I say "did you just say an artichoke?" so she goes "don't you know what an artichoke is?" ... me:"yes.. but I've never had anyone requesting to look like one .. It wasn't just what she said but also the way she said it.. like an artichoke was a cool veggie to look like?.. I just wanted to laugh really hard all the time while I was blow drying her hair.. She just had a f***ing mullet and wanted it to be all curled on top and going back and the length on the nape was longer and straighter.. Very likely the tackiest thing I have ever had to do (though it's a close call between her and an American client I had in England who also had a mullet and was there on "a church mission" her words not mine)..

Hairdressing is so much fun.. I wish I could write better but writing isn't one of my strengths.. my stories would make for a very fun book..

The last time I went to one of those dodgy old fashioned British mens barber shop the old duffer cut my hair and then asked if I wanted something for the weekend ;). I said "Yeah.... I'd like a pair of knickers mate.... because now you've made me look a right ****".

:(

I used to specialise in funky hair cuts before moving here and I really miss that.. in fact I'm gonna be working back in England for a little while for that reason.. Anyway.. I work in the best salon in this area but the work is rather boring.. very convervative clients, mainly blow dries, everybody wants to look the same :(.. I do succeed at talking people into looking more modern but still... I guess I'm just bored.. but this cabbage woman really made me laugh!..
