Remind me not to take up knitting when I go back to England to live. It'll be confusing enough as it is..

I know and then you can choose to knit english style or continental style. Americans apparently prefer english style. I knit english style which makes me a 'thrower'. I am also a 'hooker' but that's a whole other story....

And the yarn names are all different: sport, fingering, worsted, super bulky etc. I like sport because then if I knit a scarf I don't have to go to the gym

You need to go to Holiday Market in Royal Oak - I bought proper Cadbury Christmas selection boxes there last week.

Damn. I don't get homesick these days except once in a month of Sundays, something breaks through. Royal Oak is one of my underground stations, in Paddington and seeing that rang the bell.

I am pretty obsessed with slickdeals.net....My wife works in healthcare so I hear enough about it from her to ever want to speak about it myself!

Also I have recently been really missing good cheese. The cheese here is very bland. Even the extra sharp cheddar isn't all that great!

I don't see those as obsessions, they are commonly missed but the main loss, one that appears sporadically, and is probably an obsession for many, is the familiar environment, the family, the pub, the fish and chip shop for some, the different sense of humour.

Chocolate, cheese, the weather (obviously!) and complaining about the lack of 'proper' versions of all these in GA.

o and explaining to USC's that just because I'm complaining doesn't mean I don't like it here

Still call it wool. I never called any of it yarn in UK.
It's an American thing.
All Wool is Yarn but all Yarn isn't Wool.

My obsession right now is moving! Getting the house ready to sell, getting rid of stuff and trying to find out how much it'll cost to ship the stuff we want to keep. It's exhausting.
