Now I'm depressed and hungry and the leftovers look dire.
Birds powder is just corn starch, salt and food colouring. Not an egg in sight, nor milk/cream. Just make it, it's easy.

I already have the powder so won't waste it, a gift from my Mum. I just need the weather to cool off so I can bake and eat proper food.

When I was in Zimbabwe there was restaurant near Hwange that did curried crocodile tail. Bit different then your standard chicken tandoori.

Either there is not much diversity in the UK and/or it is the above menu has been declared a mandatory menu for Sundays. If so, do the menu parole randomly knock on doors to see what it in the oven?

Did you get naan and dahl with that?

I've had either croc or alligator, can't remember which. Didn't care for it - texture of meat but with a fishy sort of taste.

It's called cultural tradition.

You know, like eating hot dogs to commemorate your independence.

It is still way too hot here to turn on the oven and roast anything so we are having hot dogs for supper tonight

(super healthy Jennie-O Turkey hot dogs: yay!)

At least our cultural traditions don't involve doing unspeakable things with marshmallows in salads, and that green bean thing with tinned soup and mystery crunchy things.

Marshmallows in salad...I've not heard of that before. Around here they are put on top of sweet potatoes. As for green bean casserole...

When I grew up we always had a roast on Sunday. Cold beef with French fries and baked beans on Monday. Monday was washing day and all the clothes had to be washed and hang out to dry. So no time for a cooked meal.

Sunday's was a proper family meal day.

I was thinking of that the other day...the same meals served on the same days. Thursdays was home made meat and potato pie...apple pie for pudding. Monday was always washing day etc etc etc.
