Montana?

OK so the roads are so bad you cant do 135 but no limits.......................(or did they change that back?)

You are right about Germany - go like stink de-restricted but there is zero tolerance when limits are posted (round exits, roadworks etc)

1 down, 300 million + 11 million illegals to go.

Your allowed 3 minors in a grouping, and a total of 5 minors in total I think it is...

The Montana residents were not impressed, so they changed in back:

Ignorant, maybe but never sexist! Did I ever imply that girls/woman, could not pass the UK test.

Why is it so many Americans, seemingly (correct me if i'm wrong) learn to drive in an automatic? Unless your disabled, I have never really seen the logic as anyone can get the hang of a manual (stick shift) with enough practise and then you can drive any kind of transmission, manual, auto or semi-auto for the rest of your life, well worth the effort and money for me.

I personally don't like automatics, I don't feel fully in control of the car when slowing down where you can use the gears and you don't get the acceleration boost of being able to hold it in a low gear before shifting up

Have you ever tried to eat a big mac, talk on the cell phone (about me, me, ME!) and drink a 100oz coffee at the same time in a manual?

I dislike automatics for similar reasons; as the driver of the car I would like final say about which gear is engaged. Driving around some of the mountain passes round here is murder in an automatic..

Also.... why do no Americans ever use the handbrake? Do they wish their car to roll off down a hill?! I don't like the idea of the PARK gear holding a whole car...

Hmmm...not sure about driving, being a pedestrian here (I know, awful) but walking is sheer hell. I tried to walk to our local library on arrival which, I was told was just down the road. There are no pavements whatsoever on the four mile stroll and I had to actually cross an interstate. The traffic lights here are insane too - whats all this - you can turn right on red about? Buggered if you are on foot at a major intersection. It has been mentioned but what could be more sensible than red stop one way, green go the other? Downtown isn't so bad but uptown a pedestrian is a second class citizen.

automatics are cheaper, that's probably the main one...and handy when stuck in all that traffic

plus you can't go fast enough to enjoy a manual...and auto's are kind of handy in the sludge around here I guess..

that's the best bit about driving here that is

it's where you can go left on a red in some places that you have to look out for things...

Please, you are not suggesting the mini skirt comment is sexist. Please you are not suggesting, that no pretty girl has ever worn a mini to a test.

Absolutely no-one round here uses their handbrake - most prob because the place is so flat.
That said its always funny to see the cars wobbling around when people get out of them.
A few weeks back I saw a car in the station car park that due to being parked over a drain cover (car park was cambered to divert surface water into drain) rolled right into the middle of the entrance way - nearly hit me on the way in - once I noticed no-one was actually in it I didn't know whether to laugh or laugh
