Default If you could see anywhere in the US...

...that you haven't already seen of course, where would you go?

DH has always wanted to go to Alaska, so I'd love to treat him to a flight to Anchorage. (Icelandair do it via Iceland). Would like to catch a bus or train to Fairbanks too.

That's DH. If I was choosing for myself, or we had already been to Alaska, I think I would love to see Memphis.

Perhaps you can fly him into Vancouver where he can pickup a cruise with an extended land tour option.

I did the Princess Cruise with an extended tour that included Mt McKinley, Denali National Park and Fairbanks. Absolutely loved everything about Alaska and the cruise and land tour.

Somebody at work did a cruise and really enjoyed it. However DH and I are boycotting Canada as long as they still carry out the atrocities towards harp seal pups, which even Putin has banned in Russia. And yes I know no country has a perfect record on animal rights, but I feel strongly about the seal slaughter and the way the Canadian government subsidies it. DH won't even buy Canadian maple syrup. Even though he's from New England, he has never visited Canada.

The Grand Canyon is on my list I'm sure we will go while we are here though. I also think Alaska would be a fantastic trip!

Someone told me once, don't go to Alaska until you retire, because it is so beautiful it will ruin everywhere else in the world for you.

My first work experience was up that way - Canadian Far North, though I went to Alaska quite a bit - and, yes, Alaska is amazing.

My wife and I have talked frequently about moving there some day, though it's not in the near-term.

We would live to drive across the Dakotas. Flyover Country is underrated.

PS - I think you would enjoy Memphis but obviously different from Alaska! I did a trip once there from New Orleans, along the Natchez Trace in Mississippi and through Tupelo. A very good way to spend 10 days.

I enjoyed the parts of Alaska, I had the chance to visit in the early 2000's. Saw areas surrounding Fairbanks, as well as Barrow, pretty neat state.

Only place in the US I can think of off hand that I haven't been to is Mt. Rushmore, really nothing else US wise I have strong desire to visit.

I've covered a lot of my bucket list, but Florida's Everglades and an Alaskan cruise are still to be crossed off!

Done the Alaska inside passage cruise, Grand canyon, the Colorado and Canadian Rockies, Vegas a dozen times. Someone mentioned Memphis... avoid it. try Nashville instead. While Memphis is somewhat run down Nashville is affluent, clean, very modern with lots to see. If you're an early Rock and Roll era fan the RCA studios where Presley and the others all started is in Nashville and is now open to the public as a museum with guided tours. The Country Music Hall of Fame is also in Nashville The people are very friendly also. If anywhere near Utah the Zion National Park is well worth a visit. Some really stunning scenery not to be missed.

A little further north across the border in Canada and a ferry boat ride from either Seattle or Vancouver is Victoria the capital of B.C. It's a lovely old city which in parts seems more English then England. Nearby are Bush Gardens also well worth a visit.

Been to many places in the US over the years, San Francisco, Vegas, Valley of Fire, NV, Grand Canyon, New Orleans, Memphis, Nashville, nice parts of Florida, Maine seacoast from Kittery to Rockport, been through the White Face Mountains camping in New Hampshire, Rutland and Bennington, VT, from Boston to the Berkshire Mountains in MA, Alaska, Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia, Delaware, Pennsylvania's Amish country in Lancaster and stayed on a working diary farm in Mt. Joy, PA but there are several places I've yet to go that I would love to see and they are:

Outer Banks
Florida Keys
Savannah
Canadian Rockies

It's some years ago now, but I have taken two overnight train trips in the US: one with my young son from Denver to Seattle, and the other by myself from New Orleans to Tucson. I would always recommend an overnight train journey as a way to see the US countryside. As for cities - I haven't been to all that many, but top of my list of cities and their environs (to stay in for a few days) would be New Orleans and Richmond VA. San Diego a runner-up, and Buffalo the wooden spoon.

Places I regret not getting to at all: San Francisco and Honolulu.
