It appears that I'm not the only one that's bored today!

Portland, Oregon - because it's nearly in Canada and when it all gets too much I can flee North

Right where I live now. It's not too cold in winter, not too hot in summer (only a few days over 95°F most summers), not too wet, nor too dry, far enough inland enough to make the hurricane risk extremely low, low risk of tornados, hilly enough that floods don't affect us. Warm enough to wear shorts for at least 8 months of the year.

All round just about perfect!

Ideal!!! If I've not misunderstood your previous posts, my expected 'final destination' near Spartanburg SC isn't a million miles from where you are

I rather like the area my wife is from, South County, Rhode Island. Some lovely houses on sale in South Kingstown for way less ( with taxes) than we're paying. Shame my job is in NYC!

Well I've been to California .. and its lovely but too expensive, ditto Denver + headaches from the altitude. Alaska obviously didn't agree with me. Driven through
Montana.. too expensive
North Dakota.. I'm not an oilman and neither is DH
Minnesota ..brrrrr
Wisconsin.. folks are a bit strange
South Dakota.. property expensive
Wyoming .. mega expensive
Washington .. lovely but slighty too close to AK
Illinois .. flat
Indiana .. flat
Ohio .. blech !
Florida .. not old enough to live in FL

So that leaves my little piece of paradise here in Michigan. Cold winters (bloody bloody cold last year) comfortable summers. Zero issues hurricane or tornados. Its just right .. For ME ... and luckily DH too

Somewhere with an extremely low population density but with good supermarkets.

I was thinking a log cabin somewhere with a good enough climate so that a small holding type farm would be enough to subsist on. I'd have to read all of Hugh Fernley Whittingstall's books.

Monterey has been one of my favourite places I'd visited since I first went there 13 odd years ago. As I now live there, I'd have to say where I live now.

Where I live now. Perfect weather. The views. Great schools, very caring community to help those in need. Google Santa Ynez Valley and Solvang, Ballard, Los Olvios you will see.
