I say, I say...
Did you hear the one about the drunken FBI agent?
Happened in a Denver nightclub this weekend. Drunken dancing turned into drunken back-flipping, which drunkenly launched his carry weapon onto the drunken dance floor.
He drunkenly retrieved said weapon and in doing so he had a negligent discharge, shooting a patron in the leg, before walking away with a "my bad!" gesture. Drunken gesture.
Now what, ladies and gentleman, would happen to you or I had we accidentally shot someone? We would be arrested and charged. NFL receiver Plaxico Burress accidentally shot himself in the leg in a nightclub and served 20 months in jail for it.
What happened to this guy? Special class of citizen. He was allowed to go home with his FBI boss.

Not that I condone the behavior of this federal idiot .... regarding Burress, he had an expired concealed carry license from Florida, but no New York license; i.e. he had an unlawful handgun which is what he was charged for. But yes, you and I would be in heaps of legal trouble if it were us ( not that I have a desire to go clubbing with you or shoot ya! :-p ) It is likely the agent will have a civil case brought against him. The idiot shouldn't have had a round in the chamber to begin with; not a responsible gun operator; licensed, boozed or not. Pure negligence.

Nah, you always carry with a round in the chamber. Most incidents occur within 3ft - there's no time to rack the slide.
Incidentally, there's a reason police often do a "mag dump" - emptying the magazine, for example, at a speeding car.
It you just fire two or three, you're in control and there could be legal implications. If you empty the magazine, you did so because you're in fear of your life.
Anyway, yeah, I hope there are criminal charges and a civil lawsuit for this asshat. He didn't even try and render aid.
Incidentally, the People's Republic of Boulder just illegally enacted a gun ban/registration etc. It's illegal because Colorado has state pre-emption.
Anyway, the law exempts law enforcement, former law enforcement, and active military.
**** that. Having different levels of citizenship. **** that hard.

My favorite quote from the lawsuit: "banning rifles from law abiding citizens is like banning Subaru's to combat drunk driving".

Re: I say, I say...
Yeah, after ten days. He handed himself into the sheriff's office yesterday. Being charged with second degree assault. Still has his job.
The Sunday after the incident (the next day), a senior FBI agent flew into town for this to "assist". Then flew out again.
Had it been you or I, do you think we'd be allowed to saunter into the sheriff's office ten days later to be charged?
