I miss my tele shows!
I landed in the US a week ago. I'm here on a fiance visa and I'm going a little stir crazy. The home is all set up, I can't drive yet, I can't work yet, NOTHING is within walking distance and I am climbing the walls!
I would be much more entertained if I had access to UK catch up tele. I know there are sites you can pay to watch it through, but I'm wondering if anyone knows a way to do it for free?! My friend changed something on his laptop back in the UK so he could access the US content of netflix but after too much time spent googling for a solution to my problem I figured you guys would probably be able to answer my question pretty much instantly! Also, are there any US shows I need to be watching? I'm all caught up on Modern Family and there's nothing else that appeals :/ |
Re: I miss my tele shows!
Using Chrome or Firefox, get an extension called adtelly. Once installed, BBCiPlayer and ITVPlayer will work just like you were back home!
It's free but you may find some adtelly things show up in odd places. If you can live with that you're golden. |
Re: I miss my tele shows!
If you've got Netflix, House of Cards will entertain you for a few days.
As to getting British Telly, overplay is only $5 a month. |
Re: I miss my tele shows!
Go to www.filmon.com, set up an account for free, make sure you choose your location as the UK when asked and there you go, all the free to air channels.

Re: I miss my tele shows!
the adtelly extension for chrome is a member only thing. It requires a registration and payment.
I use strong VPN, i can use that for TV and torrents for $5 a month. The kids love cbeebies and the wife has a bunch of friends over for downton abbey. I watch the football highlights. We get good use out of it. |

But then she went on to say that rebooting my PC and router might help :sneaky: |

Since when? I have it on three Chrome installations and one Firefox - all free!
Do you have a free version then and not a pro version? If so where did you get it? |

OK that wasn't clear from the original post about this service. If you have a VPN you can use the bbc and itv web sites directly. What extra channels do you get when you sign up for this while VPN connected?
