I love Houston.

Not summer in Katy - was beautiful this morning, but about 10 mins ago it suddenly came over really grey and incredibly windy - my garden spade just blew across the yard into the pool! That'll teach me to clean up after me, like I'm always telling the kids.....

Well it was summer when I replied...... then it dropped 15 degrees and started to rain.

I'd call it Repeat Land because as you drive along HWY6 every few hundred yards you see the same sub-divisions, the same stores and the same restaurants...it just repaets over and over.
There was only the Sugar Mill and a few houses in that area when we first got here in the '80's....Fort Bend County was basically rural now it's just part of Houston. I guess the same will happen to Brazoria County from Pearland down Hwy 288.....hopefully not before we can retire and move away

I picked a few good curry spots out down there. How about fish and chips?
I have been in baker st pub in sugar land. Can anyone recommend elsewhere?

No, no decent fish and chips....I keep thinking about opening a chippy cos there's so many brits around I'm sure it would be a little gold mine....only thing is I can't make proper batter, which could be a bit of a problem....

bleh, not that happy with Houston. Better places in the USA to live, but the $$job is here.

I passed thru Houston a while back - an extended stay spanning the rodeo. Have to say, it gets a bad press, and while I don't think I'd go as far as to say I love it, I always have a darn good time when I'm there...Up in Vegas now, and while it is always fun to come here, if I want to have fun, I'd choose H over LV - more down to earth, less obvious wallet extraction............
