Trump is going to be cursing that Irma. He will fight wind with fire. He will not allow a four letter word to get the better of him.

Thanks Rete. I might take you up on that.

We are almost to Ocala after 8 hours, but 2 of those were spent waiting for AAA when the car wouldn't start after a gas stop. Battery on an 18 month old SUV...!

We used gas buddy to find a gas station with no wait. Waze has probably shaved a few hours off the trip by routing us around heavy traffic on the turnpike this morning.

We're staying near Gainesville for the night and will decide where we go after getting an update tomorrow. It looks like this one might keep moving west.

I don't think Trump believes in climate change.

This not a political thread...so please don't try to turn it into one.

If it continues to move west, then forget Mississippi for a safe haven. It is already, on its projected path, going to hit the upper NE part of Mississippi. We are close to the Alabama border and considered coastal so we won't be touched. But if it swings more westward we will get the outer bands of the hurricane.

Well a little over 10 hours and we made it. The last 50 miles had terrible traffic.

A mile a minute is only 60 miles per hour... not all that fast.

For the record, I've had 3 speeding tickets in the (almost) 20 years I've lived in the states... and every single one of them was well deserved!
