Hurricane Dorian

East coast looks like it will not be fun. Tampa Bay will potentially take a hit. Not a fun holiday weekend round here.

It looks increasingly like it may parallel the east coast now. Not good.

Sounds like a nasty one. I hope everyone in its path is ok.

Fingers crossed it says off the coast and doesn't come anywhere near Charleston!

Yup, Cat 5 with winds at 185 mph and gusts up to 220 mph. Florida is not off the hook quite yet. It's hopeful they will only get a tropical storm but they will still get the mighty water surge on the coast.

:( That must be quite frightening for him and the other residents, although of course necessary to keep them safe. Mother Nature can be a right bitch sometimes.

Not too bad for him. SiL is in The Villages and they picked him up on Saturday. More frightening is MiL, who is in memory care and being taken to Deland for the duration. She's only been there since May and is just settling in. It'll be scary and completely throw out her routine that's taken months so far!

Looks like Orlando Airport plans to close at 2am Tuesday morning.

Disney has since also updated their website, parks will be open part day on Tuesday, looks like all parks will be closed by 3pm.

All Disney hotels will remain open.

The poor love :( I'm sure the staff will do all they can to reassure you but yes, the loss of her hard-won routine will be hard. I hope she can pick it up again fairly quickly once she's back.
