Hunting
Spent this afternoon over at a friends getting the sights on target, initially at 100 yards and then used a rock that must have been about 400 yards just to check long range.
Zeroed at 200 yds, quite a drop at 400 yards.
Anyway 2nd Rifle starts Saturday and just wondered who else will be heading out and what you will be after?

Re: Hunting
Bow season here right now, muzzle loader first two weeks of November. After that dog hunting starts and they deer are scattered everywhere.
We have big problems this year with Chronic Wasting Disease CWD. I have seen a few dead ones and a buck jumped up when I was cutting hay who could hardly walk.

Re: Hunting
All the ones I have seen looked in pretty good condition, looks like the weather next week will be good, fine by me but my friends prefer snow on the ground.

Hunting raccoons. Well, one. He's taken one of our lovely ducks already.
He must die.

Re: Hunting
I can't shoot him. I live in the city too.
We're gonna have to trap him and then release him in the foothills.

Re: Hunting
The weather means I won't even bother with the deer hunt this year. The guy with the camper van sold it, so it would mean a tent, and the father-in-law won't sleep in a tent when it is raining. Looks like the rainy season has started pretty heavily this year, it would just be unpleasant all round.

Many people do not hunt during the muzzle loader season in the rain due to the high rate of misfires.
