How to make some extra money in these tough times.

Re: How to make some extra money in these tough times.
I was looking at doing one as it was only a few hours, thought easy money....then I looked into how much parking was in the area...just long enough to get into expensive parking money and errr, would have cost way more, which was a shame.
There's a few others in Boston, but you really do need to live downtown for the money they're offering to be worth it.
A lot of them are medical focus groups, marketing strategies rather than guinea pig stuff.

With the one I did, I only had to drop by their office to pick up the product and the evaluation form, took about 10 minutes. Then I didn't go back until a week later to drop off the evaluation form and pick up my check...about 5 minutes. And it turned out their office was on my way home, so not even out of the way for me!

My wife got $200 for a 2 hrs grocery store visit and interview.
A lot of the others she has done are $50 to $75 an hour.
All were in person not online.

Hi,
I know times are tough and money is tight this year. For several years I have been participating in online surveys and local focus groups. Some of the surveys are only for people in the USA and some are international. It is perfectly legal . I don't know if it's allowed to post the names of the companys so I won't. Just google online surveys and focus groups and several will come up. I have also gotten to test out several products for free such as shampoo, laundry detergent, food and makeup.I then give my opinion on it. It doesn't take a lot of time and can really make a difference in your income beleive it or not.

Wow - that's a lot of money
I once got $100 for trying out an acne cream. I had to visit the researcher's office about five times tho, and got the cheque on the last visit.

I got $400 for doing a 3 hour "mock trial" once. It was really interesting .

I would love the details too.
I used to do this in the UK for a local soap powder company but I didn't get paid, just got the products.

I signed up with a mystery shopping company, i had apply by writing a number of very comprehensive reviews of hotels restaurants etc and it was months before they came back to me.
I am now on their list but nothing has been close enough for me to do. they do restaurants, hotels, spas and even cruises and you have to begin with meal reviews and work up, you get a fee and reimbursed for whatever services. If you are in a major city it may be worth it.
