Herbs and Spices

Hi All
Well after a lovely 2 years in the states, we are heading home on Monday. We've had 10 days notice, 2 weeks before Christmas - fun...

Anyhow, one quick question as my moving company just give me tonne of paperwork and don't answer... can I fly back to London with my herbs and spices collection in my suitcase? I was so upset to leave my collection in London, and now, do I have to leave my new lot in NJ?

Any ideas anyone? I'm giving all my other food away to food banks etc, but I would love to keep these if I can. I know they probably can't be shipped.

Thanks all

My mum regularly brings me herbs de provence into Canada which up until recently I had difficulty finding here. I know its not on the restricted list in terms of bringing on the plane coming here

This link may prove helpful, you can click on any country and look up most things. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that you can take them back :fingerscrossed:

I'm not sure why you wouldn't be able to ship them. Things like peppercorns, chili powder, dried basil etc aren't a danger to anyone or anything.

Seeds that could germinate might be, I suppose. Anything liquid would be dodgy.

I've transported spices and herbs from Europe and US many times. Some on their originall unopened jars, some opened but i put them on zip-lock bags for customs to see and "snif" if wanted.
