And why does Rock keep talking about himself in the third person. It's very annoying.

Reason Julia gets my vote is because the others are all mean to her, sneering about her being a Waffle House cook. They certainly think she doesn't deserve to be there.

Okay - she doesn't have the 'fine dining' cooking experience but she seems very willing to learn.

Rock - there's something about him that I can't quite put my finger on. He acts and talks like he knows everything there is to know about being a chef but I haven't seen much action on the actual cooking front. It seems like he's just skating right along.

so with you I hate that blonde bimbo, I wanted Julia then Jen. Rock deserves the final and better win.
And tonights vote by the owners of the restaurant was such an obvious setup as the chef did point to Rocks food.

Re: Hell's Kitchen 2007

Well I'll buck the trend from you two and vote for Bonnie to win then :)
I think she knows food better than Rock and seems more instinctive where it's concerned, he was all over the place in trying to come up with a menu. I think she might have shot herself in the foot with her choice of help in the kitchen though.

split decision here. I'm with Rock, OH reckons Bonnie is sly enough to win it

Wasn't last night's episode a total waste of time? How they strung that out to fill an hour I don't know...

Can't stand Rock, don't like Bonnie much either. Julia went down in my estimation by blubbing last night too.

Yeah I thought it was gonna be the final too  When it got to about 9.45pm I realised that it must be in 2 parts. Stupid me

Me too! bastards!

In my opinion, they are both crap. Compare them to a Masterchef finalist - not even close! And the winner of Masterchef is lucky to get a good job as a sous chef somewhere at the end of it all, not a TV contract and certainly not their "own" restaurant (which it clearly is not btw).

Interestingly, the previous weeks highlights for this show showed them stressing over furnishings (things like they've delivered the wrong wallpaper) but hardly any of that was in this one

Couldn't believe how they dragged it out with loads of repeats of episodes. She will win it but Rock deserves it better as I can't forget what she was like just a few services ago

Re masterchef I loved it when it was the old style, think of those dishes compared with now. Don't really like the new style but I guess they are being grilled (boom, boom :o ) more.

Re: Hell's Kitchen 2007

It might have something to do that the show is commissioned for x episodes and there were two times that they had a double elimination (once was the fat cowboy, and the 2nd time was when he threw the guy out of the kitchen for being unable to cook pasta). The cowboy that got round by moving the eliminated girl over to the men's team

(incidentally with all the fuss in the UK over phone cheating did they recomense the texters for that monday night)

The 2nd time was when the teams had merged and so there was no chance to have a non elimination night, so they were were one show short

Consequently we had this weeks fill-in show

Nice theory, but I'm sure the final on last season was in 2 parts aswell. It's typical of Fox to drag it out as much as possible, and fill it with as much recaps as possible. Judging by the coats they were wearing whenever they went out, it was filmed during the winter, so it must have been known for sometime how many episodes they had to schedule.

Hah :D Julia's won the whole thing in real terms, so I don't know why she was snivelling. She's got a course paid for by Gordon, who will no doubt keep in touch with her and offer her a job in one of his/his mates' kitchens at the end of it; whereas Rock or Bonnie will be hoofed out by GVR Resort never to be heard of again when the restaurant dives and they realise they're both rubbish!

I know which "prize" I'd rather have ;)

Well !! Rock got it ...

Julia really showed what a nasty she is ..
and Josh proved again .he can't cook ..

From the previews I think the one I want to see is where the guy goes after GR and threatens to put him in hospital:blink:

As for Hells Kitchen, it was another predictably drawn out affair and to be honest the right person got it

Well the first two winners seem to be hanging in ok so I wouldn't be so sure about that.

That Michael clip surprised me - last I read about him he was selling kitchen knives, and that wasn't really that long ago. Afaik he never took up the offer of a trip to work in one of GR's London restaurants either. Not sure when he started his own restaurant, what was it called - Tattoo?

Edit: ah, he never owned it, was exec chef at Tatou, but not anymore? It's all a bit murky. I think he's still selling knives ;) http://la.eater.com/archives/2007/06...chael_wray.php

2nd Edit: I guess the prize of "a restaurant" in season 1 was a bit wishy-washy, the 2nd two were both named positions at heavily advertised resorts, seems they get the better deal.

Bit of a fudge there too though - http://la.eater.com/archives/2007/02...y_promises.php -

It was a similar situation for HK2 winner Heather West, who vied for the prize of executive chef at the Red Rock Hotel and Casino. After winning, she was instead offered the job of senior chef, which is a step below sous chef (we think) but far removed from "executive chef," at the Terra Rossa Italian restaurant. Here she's incredibly humbled by it all and appreciates the prize; as far as we know, she's still there (we were at the Red Rock last month). An insider told us that FOX promoted the whole thing incorrectly, but it made the show sound so important.

I still think Julia got the real prize
