Re: Hello, I moved to America
Been here for a year, and I miss everything.
Telly, steak and kidney puddings, proper cheese, electric kettles, rainy summers, sausages, terraced houses, country pubs, pints of real ale, chicken and leek pie, gin and tonic, trains, and curry.
I yearn for these things with a gaping heart.
You alright?

Country pubs...nah, it doesn't work but if you try you can find decent beer. Chicken and leek pie, (see answer to steak and kidney ). G&T, why would you I hate trains here , the only ones we see and hear are freight trains Curry? Again, make your own
Oh and welcome!

Call me a sell out or what, but we have way better beer selection at just about any bar in NC than I had available back home. The only thing that came close were large pubs in Sheffield.

Rainy summers? Come to the Pacific Northwest, although not this year. We are on day 40 of no rain here right now.

NYC, so it's pretty seasonal here. Those 30 seconds getting out of an airconditioned car into an air conditioned building are a killer though.

I've got plenty to worry about in my life but sausages, beer & curry aren't among them.
I wish that it was.

I guess it depends what you think of as "Indian" food. A large proportion of the Indian food in the U.K. is actually Pakistani. And there are so many regional cuisines in India that it's pretty hard to generalize. I've had excellent Indian meals in the US -- in styles originating in a variety of areas of the sub continent.

I'd love a list of those places if you have time, I travel more or less constantly and will come across at least 1 or 2 of them before long.
