HBO Now will cost me $14.99 a month. I've always wanted an HBO subscription, but not bundled in with other channels. So I am very happy. Before I got my new TV I tried and failed to hook up ROKU.

I must be one of the few people that couldn't care less about HBO. I pay a load extra a month for it just so the wife can watch Game Of Thrones for 8 weeks of the year and I can watch John Oliver. Other than that, i never watch it.

HBO is the only American channel I watch.

Network TV is disastrous here.

No you're not. We don't have it, and have no need/desire for it. Netflix and Amazon Prime give us pretty much everything we want, which isn't much - we've been away for 5 weeks and the kids have watched a grand total of about 2.5 hours tv - that was Real Steel last night. In Chinese:lol: With Chinese subtitles:rofl:

Thats 2 more things than we watch on it....;)

Yeah, I struggled with Roku before I got my TV too.....just couldn't find anywhere to plug the darn thing in

Once I got a TV though - Whole. New. World - it was so easy I could do it without asking for help from either Nutek or the kids!!;)

Actually, I love the Roku - we've tried a few other similars, but none quit us as well as the Roku.

OK,OK, I know you said "new"

OK, OK, you know you've been here too long when you have to say Just Kidding in case anyone gets the hump....;)

My wife and FIL love PBS. I do enjoy their frontline docs, I must admit.

I thought comedy central was on a cake package only. I used to watch the daily show and Colbert report years ago but the format started to get tiring.

In many ways unappealing TV has been rather liberating. I tend to spend my evenings doing other things now and I'm glad for it.

Not sure what John Oliver is, but wouldn't it be cheaper to just buy a season pass to GofT via iTunes or something similar? Although we don't even do that - we wait a little while for it to come out on DVD, and get it from the library for free!

$15 a month for one channel when Netflix costs $7.99? Is it at least commercial free?

Confused by your use of 'it' above ... you don't have HBO (first 'IT' I think), so are you saying you watch GOT and John Oliver on Netflix or Amazon Prime? If so, what's the delay before they show up on one or the other? While GOT is just 'drama' and can be watched anytime, John Oliver is somewhat timely. I thought those shows did not show up on other outlets, or at least, not for a while ...

Are you in Canada still?

HBO is apparently starting to crack down on people they find accessing HBO now in Canada using VPN services, only thing they appear to be doing though is closing the account if use continues.
