I was thinking more on the lines of a big white rabbit or a Harvey Wallbanger. The latter most certainly if we lose power and flood:thumbdown:

I only found out recently that it's the storm surge, not wind, that causes mandatory evacuations.

Looks like the biggest danger in Cypress will be the flooding, not the wind speed. There's an immense amount of rain forecast.

Mandatory evacuations can be for either. In this case the wind is not supposed to be the problem but we have been through many of them to know it can change right up to the last minute.

You are probably in the best place right now..;)

I did another shop this morning before the rain started. We now have beer, wine and nuts to last until the end of next week :)

Works for me!

Good luck everyone down there. Do you expect to lose power? If so, I suggest the fill-the-bathtub-with-water routine. I used to rather pooh-pooh it, but learned to my cost that it can be a boon; now I always get the tubs filled when a big one looms!

This is good. What about water?
And candles. Votive candles?

The More You Know: It's finally legal to collect rainwater in a barrel in Colorado. It used to be a $500 fine. Crazy, huh?

This is probably God punishing Texas for all the queers and steers. It's Hurricane Andrew Redux.

We have water, both drinkable and a pool full of toilet flushing variety. We have flashlites and candles.

I hope that you all stay safe and that your homes are not affected by the storm or flooding. :fingerscrossed:
