Want to say to our BE Texas family...those who have been impacted by Harvey...just because each of us hasn't, individually, posted concern here doesn't mean we're not all aghast at what you' re enduring. We're *all* concerned about your well-being.
Your posts here SugarMooma, Chocolate Babz, Weeze's, Pugilation etc. have really personalized the existential nightmare to the extent that now I feel:
We Are All Houstonians
There's something else I've been bursting to say since Friday.
But don't want to politicize this thread. Will probably open a new one......
Meanwhile....take good care of yourselves and know....this too shall pass

Joel Osteen, money grabbing tosser
As for your last comment. I have no words. No words at all.
( I guess she didn't rummage around Walmart today hunting underwear because it's the only store open. And yes, I am getting desperate )

Re: Harvey
We now cannot get back to our town. Last night it pretty much all went under water and all roads are blocked. I have pretty much lost hope of salvage. I guess we have to start over
I'm not quite taking this all in. You can be 7 miles in one direction and it just looks like a wet windy day and then suddenly it becomes a flooded destruction zone.
We are leaving the comfort of our friends house tonight. They are over crowded now as they have family who have been evacuated from Fort Bend. Another friend has offered us the use of their camper so we are going to become pikeys for a while.
Not waking up from this bad dream yet...

Re: Harvey
Compared to others we are doing well. Our house currently isn't flooded, but the water is higher than it was. The highest it's been. Our neigbours have started to moved stuff to ours and there will be at least 2 families going in to it because it's higher than theirs (we are double story). Our elderly neighbor was evacuated. The others weren't because they said they already had planned to go to ours. The end of our street looks like a disaster movie. It's the staging post for the national guard where the boats are coming to. Mr Weeze was helping for a bit but they had so many volunteers that at this point there's nothing else to be done unless you have a boat. There is a steady steam of boats and helicopters coming and going. We are about 5 miles away from our house and it's like a different world. The streets are rainy day wet, the roads aren't flooded at all. Hard to believe.

Been out all day...just got home and switched on CNN. Showing scenes of NE Houston (Kingswood?)...it is devastated. Water as far as you can see.
Forecasting at least another 15 inches.
