Happy Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving, all you ex-patter people out there. I personally want to thank Leslie, Sultan of Swing, Lion in Winter, EMR, Boiler, Benk71, civilservant and Steerpike for keeping things interesting.
Thanks to mods JG, Rete, Meauxna, PenguinSix et al. Sugar moomin.
Thanks to the indigenous people for sharing their lovely country with us, and wanting nothing but some smallpox blankets in return.

I'd like to thank Octang for being one of the only self aware and self-deprecating righty-types here.

Re: Happy Thanksgiving
Have to cook some more today. Pick up the chicken. I cook it just like we do for Thanksgiving back home. Or Independence day. Yes, I've had those questions this week.
Things I am not grateful for:
Green bean casserole.
Corn bread.
Cran-anything.

Happy Thanksgiving all!
Had a bad injury a couple weeks ago involving surgery and many many stitches on my right hand, so my wife is on cut-the-turkey duty this year!
Thanks to OF for being a like-minded conservative and not constantly screaming 'won't somebody please think about the children'
All jokes aside, I hope everyone stays safe and has a lovely day off!

Re: Happy Thanksgiving
We had a Halloween Tiki party and batched up some zombies and mai-tais. Had 60 limes and 30 lemons to slice. Got a little way in and sliced a big chunk off my thumb. Alcohol may have been involved.
Bled like a mofo for ages. Ended up trying to superglue it. I feel your pain.

Re: Happy Thanksgiving
My favorite holiday. 4 days of relaxing, no shopping or driving far.
Hope everyone enjoys good food and celebration. Here's to another year of fun entertainment from OF!
Also this year we are celebrating M's 5 year anniversary of his 2nd life! Life is good!

Happy thanksgiving all!
I'm excited for all the food, but not excited for the shopping. But it's a trade off I'm happy to do for the scrumptious food, I guess! Also thankful to have met such an amazing woman in my wife and her great family. Thankful for the opportunity to live in the USA too.

Happy Thanksgiving, BE friends! My turkey breast is about to get marinated in Indian spices (of the Asian variety!) and served with a cashew nut stuffing courtesy of a cookbook written by a BBC Look North newscaster many moons ago. But I do bow to local traditions with a cranberry relish, albeit one with lots of Serrano peppers . . .

Re: Happy Thanksgiving
I am noticing a lot of social media posts about Thanksgiving being linked to ethnic cleansing in America. While, before I came to America I did link Thanksgiving to stories about Jamestown and the indigenous locals; since being here, I see it celebrated as a harvest festival style event (thankful for stuff) but at home with a Christmas dinner. I wonder if the Jamestown link has faded with time, is regional, or is an overseas viewpoint?
