Hamilton the musical
So Hamilton the musical is coming to Denver for three days.
I don't know much about it other than an actor stopped the performance to scold Mike Pence. Iirc.
Anyway, tickets on sale on Monday. Overheard a guy who will camping at the box office on Saturday. Crazy. Is it that good, or is this just a Tickle My Elmo/Tulip frenzy?

Universally applauded -- critics and public -- won a boatload of awards; great music; clever book.

I aint been to the real theatre for a while (well, did Boulder Dinner Theatre's production of Annie couple of weeks back. That was very good.)
Will try and get tickets.
We say Jersey Boys last year. That was very enjoyable.

Saw it at the Pantages in L.A. last fall. Enjoyed it. Wouldn't mind seeing it again but for the cost.

I saw it on Broadway, thought it was shite. My wife loves it, saw it on Broadway twice and wants to go again this summer when the tour comes through.

I saw it last night.
When it first got talk, I dismissed it as more Founding Father Hagiography. But my twelve year old has been obsessed with it, so I took an interest to support her, I am so pleased she introduced me to it. We have been listening to the original cast recording on Amazon prime for a while and it is quality writing, but the performance is so much more than the music, it helps to know the history, which I do, helped along by reading Ron Chernow biography that the musical is based on. It exceeded my expectation, which were so high because of my pleasure in listening to the music combined with the hype, I was thinking it can only end with disappointment. Possibly my best night ever at a theater. Perfect meeting of style and content. Cheers from the audience at "Immigrants, we get the job done!"
I get to see it again on a freebie as I will chaperone a bunch of history high schoolers next week.
Ticket wise, I signed up for notifications about a year ago, then got an email to resister for a chance to be notified of sale code, (verified fan), then had to sneak a phone call at work the moment they went on sale, picking a mid week performance to try and lower competition, so got them at cost.

We managed to get tickets. 75 a pop. Not cheap, but were lucky (and persistent on the blower). We go tomorrow night.
I will be taking my MAGA* hat and I will shout "Build A Wall!" whenever immigrants are mentioned.
*Where does one buy a MAGA hat?
Looking up the definition of hagiography.

I found my Certificate whilst clearing out some crap yesterday, think I did it just the once, not a runner.
