That part is not true. Sure, he stole some stuff from a store, but the cop had no idea about that - as far as he was concerned it was just a few idiots walking down the middle of the street.

Last night's event was all about the result of the grand jury deciding if there was enough evidence for a trial. Not whether he was guilty or not. These kinds of things are nearly always decided as a yes. In 16,000 federal cases, only 11 resulted in a no. There's no data on Missouri state cases to compare against. Anything involving a cop on duty, it is nearly always a no. Whether the trial would have resulted in a conviction is a whole other question (although it would have created more nights like last night), but there was plenty of evidence that could have sent it that way. Just the bullet wounds suggest that he was either shot once from behind or with his arms up.

And don't get me started on the people blaming Obama and calling people out as race-baiters. That's an easy indicator of a modern racist - blaming people of another race when they get upset about being discriminated against.

Of course, that isn't in the least bit surprising. The violent, vocal minority is in no way representative of the black community as a whole. Every rational thinking person knows that.

Like others, though - this is what we should be seeing more of, rather than the damage caused by the other crowd.

Unfortunately, often there is a small percentage of people in a rough neighborhood that controls the streets and usually they are not the good guys. I suspect that the vast majority in the neighborhood were upset with rioting and fires which does little other than destroy their livelihood and neighborhood.

There was a small number of people that were out last night doing the damage. Some of it may be justified by their anger but I suspect much of it was to show the police that they control their turf and the police can't do anything about it.

I was under the understanding that he fitted the description of the people who knocked over the store and the cop was stopping them so he could confirm who they were.

I don't give a **** what race you are, if you attack a cop, and get shot, you really only have yourself to blame. There was no way the cop was going to get in trouble for that, and people are naive if they thought otherwise.

Ironically Michael Brown didn't know the police officer didn't know, and so Brown's attitude towards the police officer likely reflected Brown's assumption that that he was about to be arrested for a crime that he did commit.

The police should commended for their restraint last night facing a baying probably armed mob, guns going off, police cars being burned they were within their rights to shoot every begger on the street last night. They never fired a shot last night real commendable.

Many accounts suggest some of the cars were set on fire by white kids, so obviously no one needed to be shot.
