Default Getting DirecTV? Get AAA first.

Too late for us to benefit but maybe this will help someone else.

We just joined AAA and discovered that AAA members who sign up for DirecTV service can get a $10 credit off their TV bill every month for 24 months. The AAA subscription is only $66. But you have to be a new DirecTV customer and have your AAA number when you call to sign up. Google "AAA DirecTV" and you'll get loads of pages with details.

There's a possibility that existing DirecTV customers can get some kind of partial rebate for joining AAA, I'm still looking into it. Some sites report that sort of thing but they're pretty old.

Is that in store too or just on their websites? I noticed the Target.com discount, but I must say I've never had cause to buy from their site.

But yes, http://www.aaa.com/shopnow shows what online shopping discounts you can get.

I think it's supposed to be online only? But we've had the discount taken in store too though, but we've only bothered asking for it when buying large stuff as it's only a few percent off.

Also good for rental cars and hotels and stuff when you don't have any other codes. As a former AAA member, I was never asked for an AAA card or number when I used/asked for the discount...I'm just sayin'...

My grandma got me an associate membership when I was in college, and whenever I used it I was asked for the number. And yesterday I learned that some hotel websites won't quote you the AAA price unless you can put a valid number into their search form.

These days, they tend to check....those stores online require a valid member number and actual shops, some of them swipe the card.

Can also use the membership at a few of those outlet malls for discounts like the one in Wrentham, MA...
