He was obviously told he was commentating on soccer 30 mins before he had to be on the plane to Germany.......

I don't care who is on the mike as long as it isn't Peter Drury or John Moston on commentary or David Pleat as co-commentator. All 100% annoying, patronizing gits.

I actually don't mind it if it is some 'clueless Yank' doing it. I quite like that. 'That defensive play gained some yards there', 'I think the goal was deemed illegal for offsideS', going crazy cos a team has just taken the ball over the half-way line etc etc.

I enjoy it - it's way better than hearing someone like Motson or Drury co** su** someone like Rooney or Gerrald for 90 minutes.
