One dissenting voice. Nobody disputes his right to hold a differing opinion. That's kind of protected by the First Amendment, no? Of course, the fact that hundreds of thousands of people were motivated to march in support of his schoolmates while he doesn't appear to have gathered very much popular support himself, speaks volumes for the relative appeal of his position.

Yeah, becasue that's the way to encourage people to share a platform, isn't it? Insults and belittling language is characteristic of those on the defensive who've run out of coherent points to make. That sounds like Octang Frye to me.

I think you may find that that was revolutionary war (or, if you prefer, war for independence, or armed insurrection, or any other such phrase) that came from the barrel of a gun. Democracy, in American context, came from debate in the Continental Congress.

I think this is true. It's also important to remember that the colonies had representative political institutions way before the so-called revolutionary war. They had town meetings, colonial assemblies etc.
