Flooding in Texas

Wondering how Mrs. Sugarmomma is coping with the heavy flooding from the storm. The pictures of Houston and area are horrible to see.

Not sure about other Houston area people but I survived ( water in garage but minimal ) and Chocolatebabz survived as well. Thanks for asking Rete

it was a very sneaky storm that caught everyone off guard. I admit to panicking as it took us so long to get our house back to liveable after Harvey and I just pictured it happening all over again. I know there are other potential storms forming right now. I just hope they stay off land and disperse with out causing mayhem

We are seriously considering a big move next year away from the Gulf coast!

Glad to hear that you and CB are okay over there. The news reports are showing such horrendous flooding. Can't say I blame you for wanting to move further inland.

Tornado alley, Hurricane South-East, Icicle bound North, Fiery Cali, so hard to choose! All the best.

There is a safe place somewhere. I know there is. I'm still looking but I'll find it!

Illinois! summer weather is fantastic, winters suck though.

I moved here from TX, I'll concede that I do definitely miss the 60-70 winters.

Maybe try Austin/Dallas? It's a little "safer" from the weather perspective.

So glad to hear you are safe and dry in Houston.
I can absolutely recommend Austin, too hilly for tornadoes, water goes straight down to the creeks ( just don't live near one) and into the lake which is controlled by a dam at either end, lots of trees and parks.
97F today though and I am so ready for the temperature to drop and for winter to arrive.

I love West Texas and we would move there if it wasn't quite so remote. Should have done it 20 years ago!

I'd try New Mexico. Never about bad natural occurrences happening there.

We have a planned trip to Taos next year. We have been before and love NM. It could be on the place to live list!
