I just got RDU-LHR for the same price in November. Some good deal out there at the moment

I got August ones direct from Houston to Amsterdam for less than $600 return.... loads of cheap flights between AMS and the UK or the rest of EU. Posted the link yesterday in a separate post.

There's a few cheaper flights heading out of Rhode Island apparently. Saw someone get a return flight all in for $300 recently.

That will be with Norwegian Air, I would think.

I'm flying with them to Edinburgh on 5th July (from Newburgh-Stewart airport in the Hudson Valley, NY). My friend is only going for 4 days and not checking in any baggage and paid $99 inc taxes (each way). I'm taking a suitcase, wanted an emergency exit seat and a meal with wine and my fare was$162.

I'm returning at the Labor Day weekend from Belfast (will take a cheap Easyjet flight from Birmingham or London then spend a couple of days in Belfast as I've never been there before). This flight was booked 5 days ago and cost $248

SWF airport is approx 1hr 15 mins from our house in NJ. Norwegian Air also flies to JFK from Gatwick and Dublin but although is shorter in distance from our house, it's a pain to get to from NJ (through Manhatten or On and off Staten Island....plus of course higher tolls for the bridges or tunnels)

Btw I was chatting with some friends at the gym and they say that because of all the terrorist attacks in France, Belgium, Germany and England they just wouldn't feel safe in Europe, even though they have had vacations there in the past. I wonder if airlines are finding a drop in passenger numbers this year and having to reduce their prices to attract customers?

It's International don't you know (they fly to Mexico!).

Not direct. You can go direct from Austin but over twice as much.

Austin only has BA direct to LHR and Condor to ?Frankfurt as direct European flights. Out of holiday season, you can get BA return for $1k from Austin.

We nearly always fly from Houston - so many airlines go to Europe from there, it's always cheaper. It's a 3 -3.5 hour drive so doesn't add much on if you are the traveller, but if you're the mum taking and picking up then not so much fun.

Rather amusing to see 2 lufthansa flights, air france and BA A380's all lined up to go and all leaving within 2 hours or so of each other.

I'm flying from Ottawa, Ontario to LHR today, returning in August. It was about $980 US. Not too bad for summer. They've now started charging extra for seat reservations - $25 for lousy seats, $35 for aisle seats, $100 for extra legroom seats. I know that other airlines have been charging for this for a while.

I missed out earlier in the year when the BA flights were $600. Hate the drive to and from Houston, would rather have a connecting flight here to be honest.

Yeah, done the Austin route once before now.

I just booked to go back to UK with the wife from December 22nd - 31st. Insane how they bump up prices for christmas time.

the good old BA + Car rental bundle discount worked out well again, i booked the two of us plus car rental for $2.2k return from DFW direct. with being so near DFW airport i find it difficult to fly any other way, i'd rather pay the extra for no layover - unless it's stupid cheap.

For those booking BA cash fares, just want to make sure you're aware of the AARP discounts available: $65 for economy, $130 premium and $200 business/first. It's currently only for bookings for travel up to 31st March 2018, but they periodically extend the closing date. Anyone can join the AARP, and if you click around a bit you might not actually have to join at all. Also stacks with the Chase Card 10% discount.

But you *really* should just pay for the AARP membership before using the discounts (it's only something like $16 for a year). If more people catch on to the fact that there's an exploit, the discount will likely be removed and that's a bit unfair for those of us who are using it legitimately (i.e. $200 off CW/F and when combined with the 10% Chase discount, it is a good deal and I use it often). There was a thread on FT about a blogger who shared a direct link to the AARP BA discount and there was a decent amount of outrage about it.
