Default Flight Prices

Anyone else looking for a flight home at Christmas an encountering ridiculous prices? Any out of the ordinary places I am missing? I feel like I have scoured the internet...

Yeah get used to it Christmas time is expensive - we flew back last december, direct from dallas cost me $2,500 in goat class for both of us.

We could've flown slightly cheaper with a stop, but i'd rather pay the difference to avoid a stop and fly direct.

Yeah me and my wife paid around $2500 in grim-class to fly from Denver to London last Christmas.

Definitely won't be back this year. I did book flights last week, for July 2019 as my best friend is getting married, they only came to $1100 return in premium economy which I thought was pretty damn good.

Peak travel around the holidays, unlikely to find many deals.

Wait until you are closer to Christmas then look at bookings for Boxing day or on Christmas day itself. we have saved thousands on our last two Christmas trips, we went from $900.00 each in economy on Virgin, flying on Christmas eve to $280.00 on Boxing day flying Virgin economy in 2016, then Boxing day last Christmas we got premium economy which are normally a few grand a ticket for $1100.00 each, we couldn't resist those as we have often walked through the posher bit in the past and been very jealous, we got priority boarding and a glass of wine as soon as we sat down in our wide leather seats
It's always worth waiting and shopping around, also make sure you clear your cache after searching, it removes the previous prices

An overnight flight on Christmas Eve and/or a flight back NY Eve...is often much cheaper,
