Default Family wedding plans

So we've been invited to the wedding of the daughter of one of Mrs P's cousins. She lives in TN, so I was thinking I'd be dusting off my suit and we'd be taking the Mustang for a bit of a road trip over the Appalachians and a long weekend in TN. Little Miss P is very excited, she'll be one of the bridesmaids.

Then we heard that the wedding is taking place on a farm, we'd be parking in a field, and if the weather is bad the wedding will be in a barn. The reception will feature a menu of smores, popcorn, and candy.

So obviously I won't be needing the suit, and Mrs P thinks we should take the truck instead of the Mustang. I am thinking now that even twills/ khakis might be too dressy, and perhaps I should just go with jeans, ..... or maybe bib-overalls!

Does anyone have any thoughts or tips? ...... Should I replace the front Union Jack/ Stars & Stripes "novelty" tag on the truck with something else for the occasion?

As they're "good church people" I fear that the toast will be with "fruit punch".

It's the other people who'll be there with banjos that worry me!

Just ask them if people are wearing their 'Sunday best' or are going casual?

Whether or not you take the mustang is up to you! Is it your 'baby' like my stepdad's mustang is to him?

Yup. ..... And Mrs P scraped the faux side air scoop into the garage door rail! ..... On balance I still favour taking the Mustang, unless it has rained recently or rain is forecast.

How far off a paved road will said event be happening? Stone chips would be a serious concern for you baby if a lot of dirt road driving is on the agenda!

Yum

Sounds like a Waltons episode... Will you be wearing shoes?

or tips?
Go for the smores... They stack easier than the popcorn and candy.

Something with "Duck Dynasty" on it by the sound of things.

I wish, but not this time. ......We went to a wedding a couple of years ago up in the mountains, where they had a whole barbequed pig. That was very informal, in a private park setting in the bend of an ox-bow lake. ..... The had a covers band providing entertainment too, a good one, playing Skynyrd, Allman Brothers and Charlie Daniels covers.

I was at a wedding recently. Born again types so it was dry. Grandfather-in-law allegedly snuck in a water bottle of vodka. We were all jealous and he wouldn't share.

pack a picnic?

take spare clothes and a cushion in case you are sitting on hard chairs all night.

I cant imagine ever going to a wedding in jeans but sounds like a pretty relaxed affair. fawn/ beige trouser and a crisp white shirt is always a safe combination that can have a denim jacket to make it more casual or a smarter jacket and tie to make it more formal.
