Re: Earphones

I spent a fortune once on some top o' the line "B & O" noise cancelling headphones.

I could still hear her.

If you want canalphones, the Etymotic ER-6i are great. About $80 and a really good value at that price:

I like the classic Sony EX71 as well, but the (more expensive) Etymotics are worth the extra money, IMO.

If you want full-sized, around the ear 'phones, I like the Sennheiser HD555 which cost about $130 and sound like the cost five times as much:

For over the ears, Sennheiser PX100: awesome for the money at $50:

Also over the ear, the famous Koss Porta Pros are a great value, also $50:

These are easy to find basically anywhere and are ridiculously comfortable.

Grado SR-60, which I own, amazing for about $60. IMO, the best sounding headphones for the money in the world:

Re: Earphones

what I find with ALL of the in ear phones I've found (except some cheapo phillips ones) is that they come with a silly light rubber bud that, no matter WHAT I do, will not stay in my ear.

the ones I currently use are $19 made by phillips and came with a foam bud that forms to your ear and hardens with heat... meaning it seals itself to your ear...

in these I can pretty much just ignore them... no messing around and they don't block sound when the input is turned off...

I use them for commuting.

at work I have a nice set of Bose around the ear phones, at home a nice set of Sennhesier over ear...

my wife hates it but I tend to spend a little more than most on audio (married/retrained audiophile)...

I like the Sure E2c headphones... and they come with a 2 year guarentee. They go wrong, they give you a new pair. I love mine!
