I need to transfer a reasonably large chunk over here over the next 6-9 months, so I like the sound of that....:thumbup:. Hit my first trigger for the first slug this week....may have to consider revising my next trigger points...

It will either go up or down, so they have a 50% chance of being right. And take massive bonuses either way.

Great news - I get paid in sterling. I've been expecting this to happen for a while but it hasn't transpired yet. One lone hawk in the Bank of England's committee is trying to get interest rates higher and looks to be winning support - this is why the pound is strengthening. If the fed brings in QE the dollar will tank against the pound and i'll be quids in. Or not as the case may be. Crystal balls have a nasty habit of being wrong.

I don't know....when I was trading (not currency) we were always very precise with our forecasts....the programmes we used took it down to the cent. Whether we were accurate or not was another matter...:D Time will tell with these guys!

Just a tiny drop can make all the difference. A few years ago, when the rate was $2.01 to the Pound, I tried to transfer a large amount to the States. The transfer failed, and I did it again, successfully, a couple of days later. the same amount of sterling was worth $700 less! I was tempted to complain to my bank for compensation, but it was a hectic time.

Isn't it funny how you ignore exchange rate fluctuations until you have bank accounts in both sterling and dollars :)
