Default Delta baggage allowance question

Hi,
Does anyone know whether Delta charges $25 per checked bag on each leg of a flight?
We're going to Vancouver but flying via Toronto and coming back via Los Angeles and are concerned it's going to cost us $25 for each leg of the trip.

Thanks
CWT

If you did not book the flight segments separately and your only transfering flights you should not be charged for each leg. You will have to pay for both outwards and return flights.

We booked to Vancouver, but there were no direct flights so had to choose a multi leg option. It's annoying, as we are only 1000 miles short of being "elite" status and not having to pay the baggage fees at all.

In the past when we've asked something, we discovered there was a "delta" between what numpty on the phone said and what numpty at the airport put into practice. I was not a happy bunny on that flight

Last time we flew to Orlando from GR, via Atlanta we only paid the baggage fee once in each direction. Now we have the Delta Amex and don't pay any fees, for 4 of us that saves quite a bit.

Oh dear.

Usually you would only have to pay one fee...but the airlines seem to be changing their policy every five minutes...that's why I suggested calling them.

Good to know. I was considering buying the miles difference to get elite status, but minimum purchase is 2000 and would cost $70. Cheaper to pay the baggage fees. Unless of course numpty at the airport charges us for each leg

I have a Delta Amex as well. It's great not to have baggage fees with them. I have the Platinum one which gives you a free domestix companion ticket each year. You also get priority boarding with a Delta Amex too.

I don't have the Platinum card but we still get the priority boarding, a companion ticket is $99 still a good deal considering how much we save in baggage fees.

Very true! The baggage fees can really add up!
