I'm ******* certain that there is NO place in the United States of America that can possibly be more crappy than East Kilbride, here in otherwise Bonnie Scotland!

Trust me, there is, and that's coming from someone who grew up in Glenrothes.

I once had a swain from East Kilbride, it didn't seem that bad, maybe a little dull. You're quickly into Glasgow or the Highlands though, so not as bad as being stranded in a dull part of the US.

We made a wrong turn on our way somewhere else, and got lost in that horrible maze for over an hour. Every time we asked directions, people would give us directions to a highway ramp that was closed and had been for some time.

Have to agree. At one point, wasn't it the murder capital of the US?

I agree and as a Leslie lad I know the carbuncle takes some beating.

Did it improve when he left?

Oh shut it you!

He worked there more than 6yrs ago, so I reckon it could have improved since then.

East Orange, NJ was truly shitty a coupla decades ago. Might have got better since then - hell, even Jersey City now has 50+ storey skyscrapers, and Newark has a few new nice buildings. But my guess is that East Orange still lags. And with Chris Christie in charge in NJ, it's not getting better anytime soon...

Likely. I remember driving through as a child, it was snowing and the snow was gray. (Or that's how I remembered it anyway)

BUT it does have its own song! Just remembered Michael Jackson was born there too.
