Same. Plus sore throat and headache this morning.. Advil fixed it. Probably would not have noticed if not looking for issues. And I dreamed a really runny nose, but that did not happen!

I admire your determination in driving 325mi one way to get it. Am currently in Virginia & hoping that things will open up soon for U-65yo folk soon.

It's pretty common here. Many people I saw down there were from the Chicago area. It's going to be a real mess getting a vaccine in the Chicago-area counties once the state opens up eligibility on the 19th, there are two million people in my county alone. I had the day off work, the weather was good for the drive, the Adams County Health Department has J&J available, I was tired of fretting about getting sick. Done and done.

The J&J's the one I want, too. I'm hoping that the county bureaucrats will stagger down by age over the next 2wks, so that over-45s can get a look in for an appt before all of the youngers fill up the slots. Anyhow, well done on your initiative.

Yippee!!! I just got a 1st Pfizer! And totally free!

Went to a grocery store's pharmacy earlier today & just dropped my name off with the pharmacist in case they might have any expiring doses that they'd want to use up before the end of the day. An hour later I got a phone call to come down asap. Dose #1 is in me now as I sit here for the 15mins observation time. Yippee!!!

I think you might have got a little extra something in with yours.

Sure is. We have a cruise booked for August (hoping that it goes ahead, fingers crossed) and I am pretty sure that they are going to be mandatory to board.

Hopefully so many businesses do this that it makes life a complete pain in the ass for those choosing not to have it because.. you know.. freedom.

Glad to hear you'll both be vaccinated, it is a big relief! My wife managed to get her first dose when a pharmacy in town said they would vaccinate professors as part of the vaccine roll out to teachers. I ended up having to drive to Carnesville to get mine. I had never even heard of the place until I was offered an appointment there and immediately said yes!

My very good childhood friend back home in Hull got the Oxford vaccine. Last Sunday, she was unconscious, after collapsing in her kitchen. Luckily, her husband and son were home and she was rushed to Hull Royal Infirmary. She had blood clots to her brain and lungs and has lost the use of her left arm and leg. She will need months of physio and is lucky to be alive. The specialists officially documented that the vaccine was the cause. She is a healthy 52-year-old and is now having to learn to walk again. I was already on the fence - this reinforced the fence.

I'm sorry about your friend. It must be horrible.

However, there is not just one vaccine. The Astra Zeneca vaccine is entirely different in its construction from the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines currently dominating the US scene. And for all available vaccines, including Astra Zeneca, statistically speaking the risk of dying from covid is much, much higher than any risk from any vaccine.
