Default Country songs...?

Totally into an old Kenny Chesney song right now (on replay for two days running). Anyone got any other ace country songs for me to check out?

"Shotgun Willie" by Willie Nelson is probably my favorite country album. His version of "Whiskey River" is in my top five songs of all time list.

If you want something more modern and slightly offbeat, check out what Sturgill Simpson is doing.

Well, that goes without saying. I was thinking something 1990s onward...

Greatest country song of all time, "He Stopped Loving Her Today," by George Jones. Check out Travis Tritt and Steve Earle if you aren't familiar with them -- their early albums, especially, were excellent.

Not a fan of country music. The only artists I remotely cared for were Patsy Cline and the Coal Miner's Daughter

My favourite was a number by Collin Raye called "Love me" which came out in the mid 90s.

I have a fairly eclectic taste in music. As far as country music is concerned I've always been a fan of Cash, but also admit to listening to the odd Taylor Swift rock-n-roll country songs.
iTunes, obviously struggling with such a wide gamut of music in my collection, suggested Old Dominion, specifically the "Meat and Candy" album. I liked it and bought it. It has kinda been on random-repeat in the pickup for the past 3 weeks.
If you enjoy the more modern country style then take a look at this.

My favorite has always been early Bob Dylan , John Wesley Harding and earlier which is not country. But check out John Prine and Buffy St Marie ,Johney Rivers.

More bluegrass than country, but one of my favourite songs is Alison Krauss & Union Station's My Poor Old Heart.

I am very open-minded. I like Country Music, and Western Music too. Jimmy Rodgers is best (died 1933)
