Cornavirus ... Have You Tested Positive or Negative?

Cornavirus ... Have You Tested Positive or Negative?
They have sped up the test results so it is available now in just an hour. My hubby, who has not been feeling well for weeks and under a doctor's care, tested negative last Monday.
His doctor did a different type of Covid test and it has come back as positive.
Have you been tested? Did you have a negative result which proved positive later on? Do you or someone in your family have the virus?
We wear a mask religiously and wash after getting home and frequently during the day. Still, it is here.

I tested negative in August I think, had a cough and scratchy throat and felt achy for about a week. Took about 26 hours to get the result, once negative they don't retest here unless you get sicker or don't get better. But once a negative result, all isolation requirement are lifted on you here.
I wear a mask when in public indoor settings, if I am taking the dog for a walk I generally don't as I rarely encounter someone else, and the health people here say a mask isn't need outdoors when you can maintain distance from others. I don't wear a mask at home.
I believe parts of the US are just so infected now that it is simply difficult to avoid even with taking precautions. The infection rates in some states is just at insane levels.

Tested negative the other day (no symptoms but possible exposure for work).
Bored with this shit now... Bring on the vaccine. Can't wait.

I have had no reason to get tested. I have had no symptoms. Apart from taking walks and grocery shopping wearing masks...I stay home. When I go shopping I take a list, go straight to said products and get out. I do not browse through the shelves/aisles.

I haven’t been tested. Had no symptoms, and don’t believe I’ve come into contact with anyone. Neighbor had it. He’s one of the fire captains in our city. Luckily he has an RV he was able to self isolate in. Today, her entered the human race. He said the virus was brutal!

I had to get tested before returning to work. Kinda stupid, and obviously I was negative.

I am thinking if I had mild symptoms I wouldn’t bother getting tested. Why wait for hours for the test? Of course if it worsened, I would.

Re: Cornavirus ... Have You Tested Positive or Negative?
I get tested once a month, for the virus and its antibodies, as part of a screening program run by UC San Francisco to extrapolate the rate of infection community-wide. So far tested negative for both...

I am tested every Monday as someone that works in a building with active COVID infections and an isolation unit.
I have tested negative every time.
I do, however, suspect that I had COVID in February before testing began. I had severe upper raspatory systems that I couldn't shake for a month, pneumonia, and couldn't taste.

I don't believe so. I have received both tests (but only regularly since end of May as the positivity rate in our local community went above 10%) and at no point have I shown any positive.
Honestly, it could have been COVID, or it might have been garden variety pneumonia. All I know is that at 36 I had never had it before, and it was genuinely the most scary health experience of my life. Not being able to take 5 steps without feeling like you're suffocating is not something I would wish on my worst enemy.

I work in a healthcare environment and regularly schedule drive through tests, and have tested negative in all of them since August.
Back in February I was having severe flu symptoms, struggling to breath, and confirmed exposure to a colleague who had tested positive (one of the first in the county), and they still flat up told me that unless I presented in ER on deaths door, they weren't going to test me (tests were in extremely short supply back then).
I've never confirmed i, but suspect I probably had it back then.

I have the exact same story

Now you just gotta say you have a cough and can get tested for the most part, they are also moving away from the stick up the nose method as it requires more supplies, and going to the gargle and swish sterile saline solution which only sounds moderately better, but I hate the taste of saltwater, and gurgling and swishing for a couple minutes actually sounds worse than the 20-30 seconds of the swab up the nose.

You don't even need a symptom to be tested here in MS. I made an appt yesterday for this morning at the drive-thru and already have my results back:
Status: Final result (Collected: 11/25/2020 10:40 AM) Your test for COVID-19, also known as novel coronavirus, came back "Not Detected/Negative." This means that no COVID-19 virus was detected at the time you were swabbed.
Since my daughter is awaiting biopsy results for suspected lung cancer and husband tested positive for covid, I wanted to reassure myself and my daughter that I was 'clean'
