Whenever you'll go to a Fast food restaurant (namely Chipotle) that gives free water, do you take soft drinks instead of water? If the drinks are kept separately along with the water...

I always pay for my soda, but it irks me to see customers taking free soda when you're supposed to be paying, and the employers don't tell anything!!

I do not drink soda, other than the occasional lemonade, but I have been struck how easy it is to get a free drink, if you are inclined to do so. I never consider it to be my business whether people have paid or not paid for the drinks they get, and expect others to not be in my business either.

All that stolen soda is made up for by people that purchase a large size soda instead of a small size soda since many fast food restaurants allow free refills for either.

I've seen cars pull up, people walk in and fill up with soda in other fast food cups and walk out. Employees don't care, they are on minimum wage.

I have a Chipotle around the corner, less than a 5 min walk. I love being able to walk to lots of places from my home, especially when its for a pint of craft brew.

"All that stolen soda" is probably 5c of syrup per cup, which is why drinks are often (almost always round here), free refills because you'd pay an employee more to "ration" the soda than if you give the soda refills away.

Don't get me started about sit-down restaurants that charge $2-$3 for soda or iced tea. .... But at least it makes paying $4-$6 for a beer an easier decision to take!
